With over 16 years of experience, I offer a unique, tailor-made myo- and biofeedback approach for people with neurological conditions. I believe in the power of neuroplasticity — and in you.
I am Matthias Krieger, physiotherapist and founder of Neurorevalidatie Doorn. For over 16 years I have worked with children and adults with special care needs and neurological conditions — and every day I am amazed by what the human brain can achieve.
In 2008 I began specialising in biofeedback. Since then I have continually refined my approach: I combine proven therapeutic methods with genuine personal attention. I believe that the right motivation, a tailor-made plan, and enjoyment during therapy make all the difference.
Alongside my physiotherapy training, I worked at the Curaçao Dolphin Therapy Research Center, where I first encountered animal-assisted therapy — an approach I have incorporated into my practice ever since.
My approach is suitable for children and adults with various neurological conditions and motor impairments.
I help you overcome the effects of a stroke by gradually restoring lost functions through neuroplasticity.
After traumatic or non-traumatic brain injury, I guide you intensively in regaining motor skills.
For children and adults with CP, I offer playful, intensive therapy aimed at maximum functional progress.
I use biofeedback to measure and train muscle activity — including in incomplete spinal cord injuries.
With FMT I train consciously controlled movements and help improve the quality and fluency of motion.
I use targeted EMG biofeedback for the rehabilitation of facial paralysis and expression problems.
For complex sports injuries with neurological components, I help recalibrate the neuromuscular system.
I work intensively on restoring hand function, writing, speech and other fine motor skills.
For every diagnosis I create a personalised treatment plan — tailored to your unique situation and goals.
Small-scale, warm and therapeutically guided — tailored to what you need.
Day programme at Neurorevalidatie Doorn offers people with a neurological condition or disability a meaningful, structured day in a safe and familiar environment. Together we work on activation, social contact and personal growth — at your own pace.
Every day is different and planned together with you. Activities are aligned with your personal goals and connect seamlessly with the therapeutic approach I also use in neurorevalidation.
FMT is the core of my work. I use specialised bio- and myofeedback equipment to measure and visualise muscle activity in real time. This gives you direct insight into your own muscle function — which accelerates the learning process enormously.
The power of my approach lies in neuroplasticity: the brain's ability to form new connections. Through targeted, functional exercises with direct feedback, I help your brain relearn, automate and optimise movements.
In a free intake consultation I map out your abilities, goals and limitations in detail.
I combine FMT with other therapeutic approaches that suit you best.
During sessions I use biofeedback technology to show you direct, measurable progress.
I draw on a broad therapeutic repertoire to create the most effective programme for each client.
My therapy dog Sjefke is an indispensable part of my approach. I have found that his presence enormously increases my clients' motivation — and that is not just a feeling.
Scientific research shows that stroking a dog stimulates the production of oxytocin — the so-called bonding hormone. This builds trust, promotes relaxation and increases the willingness to move, which significantly boosts the effectiveness of my therapy.
Stroking a dog demonstrably stimulates oxytocin production. This promotes relaxation, builds trust and increases cooperation — making therapy measurably more effective.
I always combine animal-assisted therapy with my professional FMT approach for maximum results.
On my YouTube channel I share therapy sessions, results and explanations of my approach.
I believe it is important that you know exactly what to expect. Below you will find all practical information.
The first conversation is always free and without obligation. I am happy to tell you more about my approach and see together whether — and how — I can help you.
